Vertical Aerospace and Bristow Partner in ‘Ready-to-Fly’ eVTOL Operations

Vertical Aerospace (NYSE: EVTL), a UK pioneer in electric aviation, and Bristow Group Inc. (NYSE: VTOL), a global leader in vertical flight solutions, have deepened their strategic collaboration.

This partnership aims to bring advanced air mobility (AAM) to life by introducing a scalable, efficient platform for electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) operations.

Announced on June 13, 2025, this initiative is set to transform how businesses adopt and operate eVTOL aircraft.

Instead of building their own infrastructure, customers gain access to certified aircraft, trained pilots, maintenance, and insurance.

This allows them to concentrate on customer experience, sales, and network growth while Vertical and Bristow handle the operational complexities.

This model draws inspiration from successful regional airline frameworks, making it easier for businesses to enter the eVTOL market.

Bristow VX4 Aircraft Order

Under a new memorandum of understanding, Bristow has placed a pre-order for up to 50 VX4 aircraft, with an option to purchase 50 more.

This builds on their 2021 partnership and signals Bristow’s strong belief in the VX4’s commercial potential, certification path, and delivery timeline.

The VX4, Vertical’s flagship eVTOL, is designed to offer zero-emission, low-noise urban and regional transport, aligning with the growing demand for sustainable aviation solutions.

Chris Bradshaw, Bristow’s President and CEO, emphasized the significance of this step. “We’re thrilled to expand our partnership with Vertical and drive the future of advanced air mobility,” he said.

“With over 75 years of expertise in safety, operations, and logistics, Bristow is well-positioned to scale eVTOL services globally, offering customers a seamless path from concept to revenue.”

Stuart Simpson, CEO of Vertical Aerospace, echoed this enthusiasm. “Our partnership mirrors proven aviation models, lowering barriers to market entry and accelerating eVTOL adoption worldwide,” he said.

“We’re making electric flight accessible, allowing customers to focus on service and sales while we manage operations.”

Bristow Operations Management & Support

Bristow’s global reach enhances this partnership. With multiple Air Operator Certificates (AOCs) and an extensive Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) network, Bristow will provide fully managed operations for Vertical’s customers, including airlines, logistics providers, and rescue services.

These sectors align with Bristow’s seven decades of mission-critical experience across the globe.

The collaboration also prioritizes safety and efficiency. Both companies will align their safety management systems and leverage the VX4’s cloud-connected technology for predictive maintenance and data-driven fleet insights.

They are exploring MRO services, such as battery swapping and field maintenance, to ensure operational reliability.

These efforts support Vertical’s Flightpath 2030 strategy, a roadmap to deliver scalable, certified, and commercially viable eVTOL operations globally.

Conclusion

This partnership comes on the heels of a major milestone: Vertical’s completion of the first wingborne flight of a winged eVTOL in European open airspace.

This achievement highlights growing regulatory confidence in the VX4 and marks a critical step toward certification and commercial launch.

The collaboration pairs Vertical’s cutting-edge eVTOL technology with Bristow’s operational expertise. It paves the way for a new era of sustainable, efficient air travel, making electric flight a reality for businesses and communities worldwide.
