Azorra, a global aircraft lessor, has announced the delivery of two Embraer E175 aircraft to Star Air, a regional airline in India.
This milestone marks Azorra’s first customer partnership in the Indian aviation market.
The second 88-seat, all-economy E175 landed in Bengaluru, Karnataka, following the first delivery in April 2025.
Star Air Fleet Expansion
Two more E175s are now set to join Star Air’s fleet in the coming months, fulfilling a lease agreement signed earlier this year.
In addition, Azorra recently acquired 49 Embraer E-Jets from Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) in May 2025.
As part of this deal, Azorra transferred four E175s already leased to Star Air from DAE. These aircraft will help Star Air transition to larger jets. The move supports its mission to expand operations and connect more cities across India.

Star Air: Connecting India’s Tier-2 and Tier-3 Cities
Star Air, a Bengaluru-based regional airline and part of the Sanjay Ghodawat Group, is India’s largest private regional carrier, focusing on connecting underserved tier-2 and tier-3 cities.
Launched in 2019 under the Indian government’s UDAN scheme, which promotes affordable regional air travel, Star Air has grown steadily, enhancing connectivity across India.
The airline operates a robust network, serving 24 destinations with over 350 weekly flights.
Star Air’s fleet consists of nine Embraer aircraft, including four E175s (76-88 seats) and five ERJ-145s (50 seats), with a 10th E175 inducted in April 2025.
The airline plans to expand to 25 aircraft by March 2027, adding two more E175s within the next 12 months and four in 2026. This growth supports its goal of operating over 50 daily services across 50 destinations, boosting regional trade, tourism, and connectivity.
Star Air has expanded its network significantly, launching 15 new routes in May 2025 and adding destinations like Diu, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Jharsuguda, and Raipur.
Notable routes include Ahmedabad-Jamnagar, Surat-Bhuj, and Kolhapur-Mumbai, with some offering business class on E175s. The airline also recommenced Bengaluru-Bidar flights in April 2025
Conclusion
Azorra is also expanding its footprint across the Asia-Pacific. In April 2025, the company delivered the first of two Embraer E195-E2 aircraft to Hunnu Air in Mongolia. This became the first E2 aircraft to operate in the country.
Additionally, Azorra has delivered seven E195-E2s to Scoot as part of a nine-aircraft lease agreement.
