A Delta Air Lines flight reported a hydraulic problem while on approach to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport on 22 February 2025.
Delta Air Lines flight DL56, operated by an Airbus A330-300, was conducting an approach to runway 18R Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.
The flight was a scheduled long haul service from Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC), UT.

During the approach to runway 18R, flight crew reported experiencing a hydraulic issue. The operating crew continued the approach to runway 18R. A safe landing, the aircraft vacated the active runway and stopped to permit a post landing inspection.
According to the Aviation Herald, emergency services carrying out the inspection sighted something issuing from the aircraft. A shutdown of the aircraft’s left-hand engine was directed.
Following this, flight crew subsequently advised they would need to shut down both engines as a brakes problem had developed.
Ground crews acknowledged the issue, and the flight crew continued with the shutdown of both engines. The aircraft was subsequently towed to the gate.

Flight data shows that flight DL56 had made an on-time departure from Salt Lake City International Airport at 1608 local time on 22 February.
Following departure, the flight had set course normally, climbing to flight level FL390 for the transatlantic service to Amsterdam.
Descent and initial approach procedures were carried out normally, and flight crew then reported the issue during the latter part of the approach.
The aircraft conducting the DL56 service from Salt Lake City, Utah was an Airbus A330-300, registered N813NW. This is an 18.3 year old widebody aircraft belonging to the carrier Delta Air Lines. It has been operational service with the airline since October 2008.
Prior to its present service, it was operated by Northwest Airlines since its initial delivery from the factory in December 2006.
