China Airlines and Southwest Airlines have unveiled a strengthened partnership, bringing new travel opportunities for passengers.
Starting August 20th, tickets for flights under this collaboration are available for purchase on China Airlines’ official website and through travel agents.
This alliance offers seamless connections through five key West Coast gateways. These are: Los Angeles (LAX), Ontario (ONT), San Francisco (SFO), Seattle (SEA), and Phoenix (PHX).
Expanded Codeshare Partnership
The partnership builds on a recent Memorandum of Understanding signed by China Airlines President Kevin (Han Ming) Chen and Southwest CEO Bob Jordan.
This agreement introduces codeshare flights, frequent flyer mileage partnerships, and enhanced cooperation between the airlines’ loyalty programs.
President Chen emphasized that China Airlines’ ongoing expansion in North America, including new routes and modern aircraft, will create more travel options and open doors to additional destinations.
Launch of Phoenix–Taipei Route
A highlight of this collaboration is the launch of a new Phoenix–Taipei route, starting December 3rd. China Airlines will operate three weekly flights using the state-of-the-art A350-900 aircraft.
As Phoenix serves as a major hub for Southwest, this route strengthens the airlines’ North American network.
Travelers can now connect effortlessly to over 100 cities across the U.S. through Phoenix, making trips to and from Asia more convenient than ever.

Special Promotions to Celebrate the New Route
To mark the launch of the Phoenix–Taipei flight, China Airlines is rolling out an exciting promotion. Until August 31st, passengers can enjoy up to 32% off on flights to and from Phoenix to Asia.
This limited-time offer makes it the perfect opportunity to plan a trip with significant savings.

Key West Coast Gateways
The partnership leverages five major West Coast hubs for smooth connections:
- Los Angeles, California
- Ontario, California
- San Francisco, California
- Seattle, Washington

This collaboration between China Airlines and Southwest Airlines enhances travel flexibility, offering passengers more destinations, competitive fares, and a seamless booking experience.
