An Air France flight bound for Shanghai has declared an emergency before conducting a return to Paris earlier this morning.
Air France flight AF116, operated by a Boeing 777-300ER, was outbound to Shanghai Pudong International Airport at FL300 when the emergency was declared.
Flight crew squawked transponder code 7700 at 01:46 UTC whilst carrying out a return to the departure airport Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG). The nature of the emergency prompting the return is not yet known.
