2Excel Group, a leading aviation services company, has won a 20-year contract from Oil Spill Response Ltd (OSRL) to continue delivering Global Wide Area Oil Spill Dispersant Services.
This new agreement builds on a successful partnership that began in 2016, showcasing 2Excel’s expertise in tackling oil spills worldwide.
Since 2016, 2Excel’s Special Missions operation has proven its worth in OSRL-led exercises and spill responses across three continents.
The company uses its innovative TERSUS dispersant system, fitted on two Boeing 727 aircraft. 2Excel’s in-house Capability Development Team designed, built, tested, and certified the system. The TERSUS system has been a game-changer in minimizing environmental damage from oil spills.
Fleet Upgrade with 737-800 Aircraft
Starting in 2028, 2Excel will upgrade its fleet to two specially modified Boeing 737-800 aircraft. These new planes will replace the current 727s, offering a significant reduction in fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
This shift aligns with global sustainability goals, making the operation more environmentally friendly. The 737s will stand ready in hangars, deploying worldwide within six hours to swiftly tackle oil spill incidents.
The new aircraft will feature the advanced TERSUS II system, an upgraded version of the original. This system includes improved components for longer life and better performance.
Additionally, the planes will have a “Flight in Known Icing” (FIKI) modification, allowing them to operate in icy conditions. 2Excel’s skilled team developed these enhancements, equipping the aircraft to tackle diverse and challenging environments.
